All Hail Salem - EN
Dreadmore, All Hail Salem
written by Sander Nuwolt
Salem Nispens is a twenty-five-year-old lighthouse keeper in the mist-soaked harbour town of Waverton, where his father once kept the coastal light burning until the night the lake claimed him. Since that loss, the waters have grown restless, and the old tower echoes with a presence Salem cannot name. Still, the lighthouse continues to shine.
When spirits begin to drift toward him, drawn as if he carries a hidden lantern within him, Salem realizes that the paranormal has turned its attention to him. Attention to the beacon the lighthouse has become. Some reach for comfort. Others linger in silence, waiting for something he does not yet understand.
A new assistant, Manor Woudenberg, arrives to help with the maintenance of the lighthouse. What begins as simple assistance grows into a quiet bond, and together they are confronted with the shifting boundary between the harbour town and the spirit world, where grief, love, and legacy are pushed ever closer to their breaking point.
Can Salem lay his father’s memory to rest, or will his own light fade, just like that of the lighthouse itself?
